From my window, I observe in detail what is happening in the distance. Behind these large facades with multiple windows, tidy, secret, hidden lives… Sometimes there are a few apparitions – strangers. They seem to be waiting for the moment to pass. Some of them move around; they pass each other, but do they look at each other? We hear them without understanding them, we applaud them.

Perched on a large stage and facing a microphone, a young man explains to us how best to play dead. In this stadium, other voices are also heard. Gradually, a struggle develops between the speaker and the intruders.

I held the door to the subway exit to help people pass or get in for free. We live together in the same space and there are rules for living together, the rules are made to facilitate our life in the space. I changed them. It’s another way of communicating with the space.

This video was made in the city of Chongqing in China. After the rain, the whole city is in a mist. It’s difficult to see the buildings, you can discern their neon lights. These are the neon lights of banks and insurance companies. The title comes from a Chinese expression which means that when we look at things, we are actually seeing a metaphor.
